James Eidse, Intern Architect AIBC, M.Arch, B.A.
James’s expertise in material investigation and novel fabrication techniques has afforded him opportunities to work with highly respected design-focused international architecture offices. His work experience includes has worked on a wide range of residential, commercial, and institutional projects while at Patkau Architects and AA Robins Architect in Vancouver, and Stanley Saitowitz / Natoma Architects in San Francisco.
James was co-editor of the book Vancouver Matters (2008), a reading of the city through multiple points of view from professors, students, architects, and designers in Vancouver. Vancouver Matters represents Vancouver’s history and present materiality through writing, drawing, and photography organized by material condition. Each investigation uses the specific material as a lens through which the city can be seen anew.
James has a Masters of Architecture from the University of British Columbia (2007), and returned to UBC as adjunct professor in 2012.
